Trip Report: Eleuthera, Bahamas
By ISL_Adrienne at 10/15/2008 - 20:57

Eleuthera was recently named one of our Best Islands to Live On. Well, I didn't get to pack up and move there, but I did get to visit. And I can see why it was chosen as an island you'd want to call home. The southern end of this 110-mile island in the eastern reaches of the Bahamas is relaxed, quiet and filled with some very friendly people. Oh, and it's incredibly beautiful. I was there polishing off the open-water portion of my diver's certification course, so I can confirm that Eleuthera is as beautiful below the surface as it is above. Here's an interactive map of a few of the spots I saw -- when I wasn't underwater!
