All right, I am making a plan of trip to Italy. There are several tour companies advertising guided tour trips to Italy. Does any one have first hand knowledge about these trips and how they were treated and the accommodations that were provided? Did you really get your moneys-worth? Can you recommend a very good tour company for a trip to Italy? Any good recommendation will be appreciated.

the best company i know of is soul of sicily tours. (sicily is an amazing italian island which is the largest island of the mediterranean). the trips are real insider's tours to small hilltowns, fishing villages, with amazing tastings during the week. we had wine and cheese tastings and unforgettable dinners in sicilian's homes. many people felt it was a life changing week and we got an amazing value for our dollar. also the trips are run in a way that supports the local economy and that is a big plus in my opinion.
i think the website is www.soulofsicily.com (http://www.soulofsicily.com)

If you are going to Italy you have to visit Rome. I know a great company that no only lets you book great accommodation but also has produced a guide to the city. Hotels in Rome Ltd give you one a great selection of luxury Rome hotels (http://www.hotels-rome-italy-hotels.com/4-star/) and one of the best online tourist guides to Rome I have seen.
They have gone to great efforts to produce this information and it is not just about Rome either. They have expanded it to cover many other top Italian tourist destinations. I know when I last went to northern Italy, Venice Padua Girona lake Garda they asked me what I thought if the areas. Well what could I say apart from brilliant. I think they are going to be publishing it soon too. (daydreams about being a published author)
Some of the other really good stuff I saw up there was what they have got on Tuscany (http://www.hotels-rome-italy-hotels.com/tuscany/). If you look especially at Pisa Florence and Sienna you will see what I mean.
I have used this site to plan many journeys and will be doing so again. I hope you will check it out and enjoy.
