I want to move away from everything and escape to a beautiful island somewhere... Can anyone recommend one... I'm from Europe and don't want to go through a lengthy visa application - somewhere sunny and peaceful is what I'm looking for?

Are you British? If so, why not the British Virgin Islands?

Hello! Try to consider Palawan Island or Siquijor Island in the Philippines (siquijordirectory.com (http://www.siquijordirectory.com)). The islands have both quiet environment ,friendly people and white sand beaches. While having a vacation, you can also dive in the marine sanctuaries or travel around the islands and discover the local environment beauty, its heritage and culture. Some even don't just have their vacation in the islands but even build vacation houses or private resort.
